How to Adapt a Recipe for Two

I have a lot of people asking for recipes for two.

Most recipes are made for 4 to 6 servings, but if your children are all grown up and no longer living at home, you may not want to make a large meal. Not everyone likes leftovers. So, I thought I'd write a post about adjusting measurements. Savory recipes are easier to scale down than sweet recipes. Although I'm not a baker, I know that baking is exact science. I'm going to focus on savory recipes. Always read the entire recipe. No unwanted surprises. If a recipes calls for 6 servings diviide by 3. If a recipes calls for 4 servings divide by 2. Today, I'm going to focus on dividing recipes in half.

1 tablespoon becomes 1/2 tablespoon
1/2 teaspoon becomes 1/4 teaspoon
1 cup becomes 1/2 cup
1/2 cup becomes 1/4 cup

Cooking savory recipes in the oven, cooking time will most likely take less time to cook. Keep an eye on your food, as you don't want to overcook.

Hope this helps you. Any questions feel free to ask.
