Slow Cooker Pot Roast

I love my slow cooker. No fuss, place the food into the slow cooker and forget it. Come home to fall apart pot roast and tender vegetables. The gravy is perfection. What's better than a pot roast? Pot roast that has been cooking all day. Before heading home stop and grab some wine to serve to the adults. Sunday dinner or weeknight dinner. 

A slow cooker pot roast fells classy, elegant home cooked meal, perfect Sunday dinner or feeding guest. Melt in your mouth, fall apart pot roast. The smell will greet you at the door after a long day at work. 

What is a pot roast? Pot roast is a big, tough beef cut, usually a cheap cut perfect for slow cooking. 

Tips for making that perfect slow cooker pot roast: Sear the roast. Don't skip this step, it seals in the flavor.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast
Recipe by Christine Lamb @ Christine's Pantry - 2019

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 pounds chuck roast
2 large potatoes, peeled and cut into quarters
3 carrots, peeled and cut into 2 inch pieces
2 onions, quarted
salt and pepper
1 package brown gravy mix
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon garlic, grated

Directions:
Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat. Season pot roast with good amount salt and pepper. Sear on all sides, about 5  to 6 minutes each side. Transfer pot roast to slow cooker.

Add vegetables. 

In small bowl, combine brown gravy mix, slow whisk the water into gravy. add worcestershire sauce and grated garlic. Pour over pot roast and veggies.

Cover, cook on low for 6 to 8 hours until meat and veggies are tender. 

Slice beef and serve with tender veggies. Garnish with parsley.
